Asia Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding
APCEIU was established on 26 August 2000 by the 'Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Korea and the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization on the Establishment of the Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (25 August 2000) in accordance with the Resolution of the 30th UNESCO General Conference (30C/Resolution 17).  APCEIU under the auspices of UNESCO is UNESCO's Category II organization to promote International Understanding and Peace through Education

Boston Research Center for the 21st Century
Boston Research Center for the 21st Century is an international peace institute that fosters dialogue among scholars and activists on common values across cultures and religions. Focal points of the institute’s work includes, for example, human rights, nonviolence, environmental ethics.

Earth & Peace Education Associates International

Earth & Peace Education Consists of Global network of educators who aim to promote the recognition of the reciprocal relationship between ecological degradation and the violation of human rights on a local, national, and global level.

Educators for Social Responsibility
Educators for Social Responsibility (ESR) helps educators create safe, caring, respectful, and productive learning environments. We also help educators work with young people to develop the social skills, emotional competencies, and qualities of character they need to succeed in school and become contributing members of their communities.

Global Campaign for Peace Education  at the Hague Appeal for Peace
The Global Campaign for Peace Education (GCPE) seeks to develop the capacities, in teachers and learners, to face challenges of unprecedented proportion: the continued development of weapons of mass destruction, armed conflicts between states and ethnic groups, the spread of racism, gender inequality, community violence, the huge and widening gap between the rich and the poor throughout the globalized economy, massive violations of human rights and the degradation of the environment.

Global Education Associates 
Global Education Associates focuses on the development of a global ethics, values and systems related to peace, economic well being, ecological balance, human rights and democratic participation. See the site for its programs and resources.

Global Kids
Global Kids (GK) is committed to educating and inspiring urban youth to become successful students as well as global and community leaders. Using interactive and experiential methods to educate youth about critical international and foreign policy issues, GK provides students with opportunities for civic and global engagement. Through its professional development program, GK provides teachers and educators with strategies for integrating a youth development approach and international issues into their classrooms.

The Hague Appeal for Peace
The Hague Appeal for Peace is an international network of peace and justice organizations. It promotes a Global Campaign for Peace Education which aims to integrate peace education with curricula and communities worldwide as a means of reducing violence and preventing war.

Center for Defense Information
The Center for Defense Information (CDI) is a division of the World Security Institute (WSI), a 501(c)(3) public charity, and gifts to it are tax deductible, as allowed by law. Over 70 percent of WSI’s revenue comes from the generous contributions of individuals and grants from foundations.

Peace & Justice Studies Association
The Peace and Justice Studies Association (PJSA) is a non-profit organization that was formed in 2001 as a result of a merger of the Consortium on Peace research, Education and Development (COPRED) and the Peace Studies Association (PSA). Both organizations provided leadership in the broadly defined field of peace, conflict and justice studies.   PJSA is dedicated to bringing together academics, K-12 teachers and grassroots activists to explore alternatives to violence and share visions and strategies for peacebuilding, social justice, and social change. PJSA also serves as a professional association for scholars in the field of peace and conflict resolution studies, and is the North-American affiliate of the International Peace Research Association


Peace Education Commission of the International Peace Research Association
The Peace Studies Program(PSP) is dedicated to helping people work together to creatively manage conflict through teaching and training, research, and service, both locally and internationally.

Women's International League for Peace & Freedom
The Women's International League for Peace and Freedom was founded in 1915 during World War I, with Jane Addams as its first president. WILPF works to achieve through peaceful means world disarmament, full rights for women, racial and economic justice, an end to all forms of violence, and to establish those political, social, and psychological conditions which can assure peace, freedom, and justice for all.

The Connecticut Center for Peace Education
Pax Educare is a resource center for the research, study and the teaching of peace. Pax link families, educators and community practitioners to partnering opportunities in order to help promote the processes and skills needed to build a more peaceful world.

The Nuclear Age Peace Foundation

The Nuclear Age Peace Foundation initiates and supports worldwide efforts to abolish nuclear weapons, to strengthen international law and institutions, and to inspire and empower a new generation of peace leaders. Founded in 1982, the Foundation is comprised of individuals and organizations worldwide who realize the imperative for peace in the Nuclear Age. The Nuclear Age Peace Foundation is a non-profit, non-partisan international education and advocacy organization. It has consultative status to the United Nations Economic and Social Council and is recognized by the UN as a Peace Messenger Organization.

Transcend International
Transcend is a peace and development organization working for conflict transformation by peaceful means. See the site for its training programs in peace building, conflict transformation, and postwar reconstruction and for the courses offered by its distance learning university.

The Transnational Foundation for Peace and Future Research
The Transnational Foundation for Peace and Future Research provides critical, constructive and alternative perspectives on world affairs. Its mission is peace: ever less violence against other human beings, cultures and Nature.

The People's Movement for Human Rights Education
Founded in 1988, the People's Decade of Human Rights Education (PDHRE-International) is a non-profit, international service organization that works directly and indirectly with its network of affiliates — primarily women's and social justice organizations — to develop and advance pedagogies for human rights education relevant to people's daily lives in the context of their struggles for social and economic justice and democracy. PDHRE's members include experienced educators, human rights experts, United Nations officials, and world renowned advocates and activists who collaborate to conceive, initiate, facilitate, and service projects on education in human rights for social and economic transformation. The organization is dedicated to publishing and disseminating demand-driven human rights training manuals and teaching materials, and otherwise servicing grassroots and community groups engaged in a creative, contextualized process of human rights learning, reflection, and action. PDHRE views human rights as a value system capable of strengthening democratic communities and nations through its emphasis on accountability, reciprocity, and people's equal and informed participation in the decisions that affect their lives. PDHRE was pivotal in lobbying the United Nations to found a Decade for Human Rights Education and in drafting and lobbying for various resolutions by the World Conference on Human Rights, the UN General Assembly, the UN Human Rights Commission, the UN Treaty Bodies, and the Fourth World Conference on Women.

Peace Boat
Peace Boat is a Japan-based international non-governmental and non-profit organization that works to promote peace, human rights, equal and sustainable development and respect for the environment.  Peace Boat seeks to create awareness and action based on effecting positive social and political change in the world.
